Founded in 1970 by Roy Backholm, Leeds was first called North Eastern Blue Bird. Renamed Leeds Transit Sales Ltd in 1978, over the next 20 years the dealership grew to become one of North America’s largest school bus dealers. Affiliated with International Truck and Engine Co. (Navistart Corp.) since 1972 and in 2003 Leeds is proud to have been chosen as the very first IC dealer in Canada!

In our latest expansion we have acquired the distribution rights to the Quebec market and as of April 2008 are serving Quebec under the name Autobus Leeds Transit.

We are a full service dealer with a strong focus on after sale service. Our multi-million dollar parts inventory includes all body and chassis lines.

Leeds head office is in Elgin, Ontario, our regional parts distribution warehouse serving the GTA and south-west Ontario is in Kitchener, Ontario. Our Quebec operations are based in St.Lin-Laurentides, Quebec.

IC, in recognition of our commitment to our customers and our desire to bring the best possible levels of product and service to the marketplace, named Leeds the North East region Dealer of the Year in 2004-05! And in 2006 Leeds was awarded IC's highest honour - North American Dealer of the Year! This is an achievement we are very proud of!
